Bean YEN

The Bean YEN will enable interested bean growers to engage and benchmark their crops. In partnership with PGRO, a Bean YEN has been created in 2019 to help understand the variation in bean yields between fields, farms and seasons. This capitalises on intensive monitoring PGRO are undertaking on a few bean and pea fields, as part of a co-funded innovate UK project with Hummingbird technologies.  Through engaging growers and industry in taking and sharing measurements and benchmarking crop performance, it is hoped that we can understand variations in bean yields and therefore increase bean yields on-farm.

All members will be provided with a comprehensive report, detailing how their crop performed compared to other crops in the YEN.

Corporate Sponsors support the network to maintain its core activities.  Their vital role is recognised in all YEN publicity, media items, conference presentations, and on this website.

Sponsors have a key role in steering the evolution of the network and its activities.  They have access to network information, intelligence and discussions to support their own yield enhancement initiatives.

Sponsors can also make multiple competition entries, and have multiple attendance at the annual YEN conference. A few sponsors will also contribute some or all of individual farmers membership fees. For more information, please contact the Bean YEN Project Manager.
