1 March 2018 - AHDB Milling Wheat Conference in association with nabim and incorporating the YEN Wheat Quality Award
The Conference is planned to include a session on the current markets outlook and a look to future markets post-Brexit, a consumer insight paper alongside technical presentations focussing on growing high quality milling wheat.
The Conference will also include the presentation of the new YEN Wheat Quality Award and an interactive discussion with the winners.
YEN entrants with Group 1 Wheat will be eligible for the Wheat Quality competition. All entrants with Group 1 varieties should keep 2kg of seed back until notified by ADAS.
The conference will take place on 1 March 2018, at the Hallmark Hotel, Bar HIll, Cambridge, CB23 8EU
Several AHDB Monitor Farms enter the YEN competition, and a series of YEN-related events organised by AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds run through the year.
AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds Monitor Farms and ADAS Yield Enhancement Network (YEN) host regional events to connect farmers, agronomists, organisations and scientists to develop innovative approaches to improving crop yields.
These regional meetings are an opportunity to develop management strategies for achieving the highest yield potential.
Dates for 2017-18 will be announced shortly.
Facilitated benchmarking meetings in 2017/18 will provide an opportunity to share valuable information and learn from fellow YEN entrants in a confidential environment. Using AHDB’s benchmarking tool Farmbench will enable growers to calculate the cost of production and gross margins for their YEN entries and make comparisons with other entrants. Farmbench is a free, independent and confidential cost management tool provided by AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds. To register an interest in this activity please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
